During these unprecedented times it is natural for parents to feel wary about sending their child to preschool, but our setting is carefully following the government guidelines with regards to coronavirus and preschools. Here at Stepping Stones, the safety and well-being of all our staff, children and their families is paramount. This means we have had to adapt the preschool to ensure good hygiene and safety at all times. Parents are required to drop off and pick up their children at the gate. Children are encouraged to wash their hands for 20 seconds throughout different transitions in the day.
We have a rigorous cleaning schedule at the beginning, during and end of the day, where all equipment is cleaned and wiped down. We have had to remove all soft furnishings temporarily and we ask that children do not bring in toys and other items from home. We have policies and procedures in place, and these are available to read on request. Should a child or member of staff display signs of coronavirus, they will not be allowed in the setting or will be sent home. Should they have a positive test, they must follow the government guidelines on self-isolation. If they have a negative test, they may return to preschool.
